Intro:
In art and design, the ways groups of colors are used are called COLOR SCHEMES. There are many different types of color schemes, but we'll focus on 5 for this:
- Primary - red, blue, yellow
- Secondary - orange, purple, green
- Complementary - hues across each other on the color wheel (choose one set of two)
- Monochromatic - uses 1 hue (color), many values (lightness and darkness)
- Analogous - uses 3 hues found next to each other on the color wheel (use only 3)
Process:
- Take your paper and draw at least 15 lines and shapes that overlap and go off the edge of the page.
- Fold your paper 3 times at strange angles.
- Unfold your paper.
- In 5 of the sections, color the spaces using each of the above color schemes.
- In the 6th section, you can use a color scheme of your choice.
- At the end, use a marker to trace over your original pencil lines.
